Is magnetic lifting safe and reliable?
The answer is definitely yes.
For a novice, it can be frightening to see a 60-ton load held by an electromagnet. In addition to the fact that thousands of tons are handled with electromagnets every day throughout the world, which is the most convincing proof of the effectiveness of this type of equipment, we can add the following arguments:
– very low and slow mechanical wear of electromagnets compared to clamps and slings.
– The magnetism between the steel magnet and the steel load is so strong that it’s like welding.
– There are standards that impose safety coefficients depending on whether permanent magnets or electromagnets are used.
– even in the event of a power cut, the electromagnets are instantly powered by batteries.
– to avoid human error, the ergonomic regulations for a degaussing control system require that load release be validated by two voluntary actions, i.e. simultaneous pressing of 2 buttons at a distance from each other.
Note: Equipment should be maintained and checked regularly, and used only for the tasks for which it was designed.
I have a bulk product to sort or purify. How do I know what can be extracted?
If you have any doubts about the possibility of extracting steels and aluminiums, whether in the form of large blocks or fine particles, contact the technical sales representative for your department. He or she will be able to give you the answers you need, and if necessary, we can carry out tests in our laboratory. We have a full range of magnetism-based technologies at our disposal.
Does LENOIR-MEC repair competing equipment?
Our in-depth knowledge of magnetism enables us to repair lifting electromagnets of competing brands on a daily basis.
We also repair our colleagues’ electromagnetic overbands and purification boxes.
For all other equipment, please specify make and model in the “contact” section.
What are the different professions at LENOIR-MEC?
LENOIR-MEC is synonymous with… Magnetism!
We’ve been using this technology for over 70 years, with knowledge passed on and improved with each generation.
We are present in all sectors of activity, and this requires multidisciplinary, well-trained teams. From the certified welder to the engineer carrying out numerical simulations, from the itinerant after-sales service electromechanic to the quality controller, from the technical sales representative to the electromagnet coiler, all trades are represented to sell, manufacture and repair mechanical, electrical and magnetic equipment.
Each LENOIR-MEC employee is trained in several disciplines, which makes working in our organization particularly interesting.
