Magnetic filter with manual or semi-automatic cleaning (FM)

Fields of application

The type FM magnetic filter is used in a number of sectors:

  • Food industry: removal of ferrous contaminants from jams, purées, sauces, liquid chocolate and dairy products.
  • Chemical and pharmaceutical industry: purification of liquid solutions, suspensions and emulsion powders.
  • Treatment of oils and lubricants: separation of metal particles from cutting oils and industrial fluids.
  • Ceramics and enamels production: removal of iron particles from liquid ceramic masses.

Operating principles

How our type FM magnetic filters work:

  • The contaminated liquid or pasty product enters the magnetic pot and passes through a set of high-intensity magnetic bars.
  • Attraction of ferrous particles: contaminants are captured on the magnetic tubes.
  • Discharge of purified product: the filtered liquid is discharged free of metallic impurities.
  • Manual version: contaminants are removed by simply sliding over the magnetic tubes.
  • Semi-automatic version: removal of the magnetic cores to automatically evacuate the captured particles.

Directions for use

Advice from our Lenoir-Mec experts:

  • Check the positioning of the magnetic filter to optimise contaminant retention
  • Plan regular cleaning to maintain optimum efficiency
  • Choose the right type of magnetic bars: neodymium for maximum power, samarium-cobalt for high temperatures
  • Combine the magnetic filter with a metal detector for complete process protection

General features

Characteristics of Lenoir-Mec type FM magnetic filters:

  • Removable flanges for easy integration into pipes.
  • Resistant to high pressures and compatible with CIP/SIP cleaning.
  • Stainless steel structure compliant with food and pharmaceutical standards.
  • High-performance magnets: neodymium bars (up to 12,000 Gauss) or samarium-cobalt bars (up to 300°C).
  • Options available: double-walled version for products sensitive to temperature variations.
