How the Lenoir-Mec permanent magnet overband works:

The permanent magnet overband is installed above a conveyor belt carrying bulk materials.

  • The magnets create a magnetic field capable of attracting ferromagnetic materials present in the flow.
  • The captured metal contaminants are removed by a conveyor belt, which deposits them into a separate receptacle.
  • Separation is continuous, with no interruption to operations, ensuring high performance without consuming electrical energy.
  • The Lenoir-Mec permanent magnet overband magnet operates using a powerful magnetic field generated by ferrite or neodymium permanent magnets:

Directions for use

To optimise the efficiency of a Lenoir-Mec permanent magnet overband:

  • Positioning : The overband must be installed at the appropriate height above the conveyor (height generally varies between 200
    and 500 mm, depending on the power of the model and the layer of product)
  • Orientation: The device can be mounted transversely or longitudinally in relation to the conveyor (depends on the configuration of the installation and the nature of the materials being processed). Efficiency is best when mounted longitudinally to the conveyor.
  • Periodic inspection: Inspection recommended despite self-cleaning.
  • Conveyor speed: 0.5 to 3 m/s for maximum efficiency.
