Permanent Magnet Magnetic Drum

Fields of application

Why choose our TAP(N) permanent magnet magnetic drum?

The TAP(N) permanent magnet drum effectively protects your production lines and optimizes the purity of your materials in :

This industrial magnetic drum automatically extracts ferromagnetic elements from 1 to 500 mm, operating 24 hours a day without power consumption to avoid costly production stoppages and damage to downstream equipment.

Operating principles

This TAP(N) permanent magnet magnetic drum provides effective magnetic separation on all types of granular flow, perfectly adapting to the constraints of heavy industrial installations. Magnetic Separation Process in 3 Steps :

  • Instantaneous attraction: The material flow is conveyed via conveyor onto the rotating drum. Permanent magnets instantly attract ferromagnets adhering to the surface.
  • Safe: Ferrous elements are carried along the magnetic arc by the drum’s rotation.
  • Automatic ejection: Beyond the zone of magnetic influence, ferrous elements are automatically ejected into a separate recovery chute, while non-magnetic materials continue their natural trajectory.

Available magnetizing technologies

  • Type A (Agitator): Alternating magnetic fields create a tumbling effect to release trapped particles.
  • Type CC (Crossed Fields): Magnetic flux crossing to treat heavy parts and ensure homogeneous purification of the mass to be treated.

Directions for use

Tips from our Lenoir-Mec experts for your TAP(N) Permanent Magnet magnetic drum:

  • Strategic positioning: Position the magnetic drum with a drop height limited to 500 mm and a feed point no more than 100-150 mm from the surface to ensure optimum attraction of fine particles.
  • Precise calibration: Use ferromagnetic reference samples to define the optimum position of the magnets according to the particle size of your materials.
  • Preventive maintenance: Check the surface condition of the drum, remove magnetic build-up and check the anti-abrasive coating.

General features

Technical features of the TAP(N) Magnetic Drum

  • High-performance magnets: ferrite magnets (low induction) for standard applications or neodymium magnets (high induction) for fine, weakly magnetic particles, resistant to harsh industrial environments.
  • Precision adjustment: Adjustable magnet positioning for optimized ejection according to application, enabling adaptation to different material particle sizes.
  • Robust geared motor: Through-shaft transmission with integrated anti-rotation system, designed for continuous industrial use.
  • Simplified maintenance: Easy access for cleaning and maintenance, interchangeable coils and absence of critical wear parts.

Specialized technical options

  • Anti-abrasive coating Metaline (2 mm) or rubber (6 mm) for aggressive materials
  • ATEX 22 Ex II 3D certification for explosive atmospheres
  • High-temperature version (>120°C) with specially treated magnets
  • 3 mm stainless steel side guides for precise flux guidance
