Two aids to prepare your magnetic separation project.

Permanent magnet field and distance

The field of a permanent magnet is strongest at contact with its face and decreases as you move away from it.

How it decreases depends on the magnet itself (material, dimensions, magnetic circuit): no general rule gives a reliable value at a given distance, and our catalogues do not publish such a curve.

To know the actual field of your equipment at the working distance, it must be measured.

Measurement by magnetic audit

Overband selection aid

Enter your belt width: the list shows the OVAP (permanent magnet) and OV (electromagnet) models whose catalogue width for this mounting is equal or greater.

Indicative result, to be confirmed by a Lenoir-MEC specialist: the choice also depends on the material, flow rate, burden depth and the parts to be captured.
